It appears that Elliott, 43, who is currently working for NBC Sports, was at Champion's home when the Weather Channel anchor tweeted the engagement news. The newly engaged broadcaster later added of the weatherman: "Friends get no better."

Elliott also tweeted his thanks to PR maven Kelly Cutrone, New York Post news editor Jamie McCarty (whose paper first reported the news), and his former GMA segment producer, Mike Del Moro.
This will be the second marriage for both Cho, 43, and Elliott, who first started dating back in 2012. Cho, a local anchor for NYC's ABC affiliate, was married to Evan Gottlieb from 2008 to 2012. They share one daughter, Louisa, 7. Elliott shares his 6-year-old daughter Sarina with his ex-wife Priya Narang.
Elliott found himself in the spotlight when he suddenly announced in March that he was leaving ABC's GMA to join NBC Sports. The former ESPN anchor later explained his decision to The Hollywood Reporter, reasoning: "The offer to stay at ABC was terrific, but in the end, for me personally, I grew up a sports fan, it is in my DNA."
Page Six reported that Elliott popped the question "at the spur of the moment" while the two were on vacation in Europe before Labor Day weekend. A source told the paper, "They had been so discreet about the engagement, they have just started revealing the news to close family and friends."
