It seems that hanging out with all those geeks on The Big Bang Theory has rubbed off on Kaley Cuoco. The newly single star got her Jedi on and dressed up as Luke Skywalker when she competed at the Longines Masters equestrian event in Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 3.
With her blonde hair tousled and looking makeup-free, the 29-year-old was accompanied by a crew of Star Wars characters — including Chewbacca, Princess Leia and Han Solo — as she competed in the charity competition.
Cuoco, who announced her split with husband of almost 21 months Ryan Sweeting on Sept. 25, has been spending time with friends, family and her horses in the wake of the breakup.
“Had an amazing night with my Star Wars team at the @mastersgrandslam charity class benefitting #rideon !!!!!” she captioned an Instagram pic of her and her crew.
Bruce Springsteen and his wife, Patti, were also at the event to cheer on their daughter, Jessica, who competed against Jennifer Gates, whose father is Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Tom Selleck‘s daughter. Entourage star Perrey Reeves and Denise Richards attended as judges.
An onlooker tells Us Weekly that Cuoco was relaxed and happy as she spent time with her parents when she wasn’t competing (under the name of “K Christine”), and at one point during the competition Cuoco engaged in a light saber battle with Darth Vader. “She was cheerful and upbeat, giggling as she waved her light saber back and forth,” the onlooker says.
Cuoco, who ditched her wedding ring shortly after announcing her split, took second place at the event and walked away with $35,000 for her horse therapy charity.
“She looked tired but happy,” the onlooker tells Us. “Her parents, applauding at their table, looked really proud, smiling and delighted for their daughter.”
