West, 38, let the cheers roar for several minutes before accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on stage. He talked about going to the grocery store, and how he had smoked something before the star-studded bash (which explains a lot!). He also went on to slam MTV because he, well, frankly, doesn’t understand awards shows.
The biggest (what did he just say!?) moment came when the rapper declared that he’s running for president in 2020. Meme-lovers went crazy over the unexpected announcement, later poking fun of the Kardashian clan's new White House home and joking that Donald Trump has some stiff competition.
“I’ve decided in 2020 to run for president!” West said, just moments after saying he’s “not a politician, bro.” He then walked back to his seat and hugged his wife, Kim Kardashian, and presenter Taylor Swift.
Who else seems to be supporting the Oval Office hopeful? Sisters-in-law Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, who were quick to join the meme frenzy via Instagram.
