Kanye West has found himself under the weather while down under.
The 37-year-old rapper, who is currently on tour in Australia, was taken to Epworth Hospital in Melbourne on Wednesday after falling ill. While there are reports that he suffered a seizure and is in the midst of a "health scare," West's camp is downplaying the incident — and he performed in Melbourne that night.
"He's fine," his rep told The Insider With Yahoo. "I just spoke to him."
Local news outlets made it seem like a much more dire situation. Australia's Woman's Day said West was "whisked" to the hospital, "stretchered in by paramedics," and given an "emergency MRI." The 37-year-old "had one side of his face covered as he was rushed through the back entrance, surrounded by high security. Nurses were forced to ask patients to move out of the waiting room and consulting rooms so Kanye … could be treated privately."
An eyewitness who was at the hospital with her daughter getting an MRI said, "Security burst in and cleared the area. Everyone was moved out… Next thing we knew, Kanye was stretchered in surrounded by security. He had one side of his face covered with something white… We were shocked because it looked so serious."
In addition to the fact that Kanye performed that night, Kim, who accompanied him on the trip and was reportedly by his side at the hospital, didn't seem so worried, at least according to her social media profiles. Since the incident, she's posted several times — mostly about clothes, shoes, and other frivolous things. She also posted a photo of herself with her "bae" — and West looked like his normal, mildly sulky self.
Kanye has three more tour stops in Australia, wrapping up on Monday night. According to his website, the shows are still on. So hopefully his health woes are behind him.
