Mason Haynes, a bodyguard who worked closely with Kim Kardashian and mom Kris Jenner, among others, has died at age 52.

A GoFundMe page created to support Haynes’ family and cover his funeral costs said Haynes died on July 4, “two days before what would have been his 53rd birthday.”

“Mason’s life was taken far too soon in a tragic road traffic accident. He leaves behind his devoted wife Fay, his daughter Brooke, his son Noah, a loving family, and an extraordinary circle of friends spread across the world,” the GoFundMe page reads.

The page describes Haynes as a “man who made people feel welcome from the moment they met him. A man who would cross countries to help a friend. A man who never let a loved one down and who saw the deep qualities in people that others often overlooked.”

“A protector. A mentor. A prankster. A giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart,” the GoFundMe page description continues.

According to the page, money generated by the online fundraiser will “ensure Mason gets the send-off he truly deserves — a celebration of a life that touched so many people. Beyond that, they will help ease some of the immediate financial pressures that inevitably follows such a sudden and devastating loss.”

“Your support will give Fay and their family the time and space to grieve, heal and begin rebuilding their lives, without Fay having to make impossible decisions that she could never have imagined she would have to face,” adds the page.

Haynes’ employer, Trojan Security UK, paid tribute to him in a July 6 Instagram post. “We would like to pay homage to an absolute legend in the Close Protection game. Big Mason. Gone too soon. Rest easy and fly high Brother 🕊️,” the company wrote alongside a photo of Haynes and Jenner, 70.

Haynes was part of Kardashian’s security detail when she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October 2016. In May 2025, eight of the 10 suspects were convicted of robbing the star of millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry following a Paris trial.

“The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family,” Kardashian, 45, said in a statement at the time. “While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all.”

Haynes reflected on the robbery in an October 2018 interview with London Now.

When asked if he’d got into “any scrapes” as part of his security work, he responded, “Most prominently, you’d have to talk about the Paris robbery on Kim Kardashian, although I can’t go into much detail about that, I was part of that team, and that incident was simply a set of unfortunate circumstances which led to something bad happening.”
