Squash that beef. Karrueche Tran opened up this week about what she really thinks of Rihanna after the two simultaneously dated Chris Brown at one point, and reflected back on the tumultuous end of her relationship with the rapper.
“I am 100 percent single,” the model, 27, told local radio program Real 92.3 LA. “There are a few dudes trying to make their pass. I’m really just trying to focus on me.”
In fact, she’s now actively trying to avoid her ex-boyfriend. “I make it so we don’t have to cross paths so it’s not awkward,” Tran explained. “But I do get on Instagram and there’s people tagging us, or I’ll hear a song or something… I kind of just have to block it out.”
It’s probably wise given her last situation. Tran revealed that she found out Brown, 26, had fathered a love child with Nia Guzman.
“Yeah, when it hit TMZ, I was like ‘Oh, okay. Ugh,'” Tran recalled. “I called him. I cussed him out, and I was like [I’m done]. You know, because after the whole Rihanna thing, it’s been like a year or whatever — we’ve been trying to fix what was broken, and that was just the icing on the cake.”
Rihanna and Tran dated Brown at the time same in 2013. Despite the odd situation, the model said she harbors no ill will toward the R&B sensation, 27.
“We just dated the same guy, and that’s kind of what it is,” Tran said. “It’s always a competition thing and they compare us, but she is Rihanna. She’s a pop star and she’s beautiful and she makes great music, and I’m just me and I’m growing and working into myself. You can’t compare us because we’re two completely different girls.”
