Katy Perry is pulling out all the stops! To announce her next project, the "Wide Awake" singer had a giant gold truck drive around Los Angeles revealing that her upcoming album–her third–will be titled Prism, and will be released on October 22.
The 28-year-old boasted to her followers on Twitter to keep an eye out for the truck that has the news plastered in black lettering. "Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you," she wrote on Monday, July 29. Reassuring her fans that "Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map."
The big publicity stunt comes just two days after Perry played coy on possibly working with on-again boyfriend John Mayer, 35. "We’re doing a lot of collaborating," she told Extra at the Smurfs 2 premiere in Westwood, Calif. on Sunday, July 28.
In addition, it was recently disclosed that the songstress and Britney Spears have collaborated on a secret track for the film Smurfs 2. "So great to see you Smurfette Katy Perry!" Spears, 31, tweeted at Perry alongside a photo of the pair. "Can't wait for our Vegas date…" The encounter was an emotional one for the "Firework" singer, who wrote, "OMG!!!!! I CAN'T IM CRYING," with a picture of the two about to hug.
Prism will be Perry's official follow-up to Teenage Dream.
