Merry Christmas, ya filthy KatyCats! Katy Perry treated more than 100 family members and friends to a private screening of 1990’s Home Alone at L.A.’s Vista Theatre on December 13.
“It’s one of Katy’s favorite holiday movies,” an attendee reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “So she decided to screen it as her holiday party this year.”
But, adds another eyewitness, the event, which started around 8 p.m., was low-key for an international household name. “Everyone there was from her original crew,” says the source. “Katy was milling about in the lobby. At the beginning of the screening, she said, ‘Thanks for coming. I’m bad at public speaking. Enjoy the movie!’”
Her guests — which didn’t include any celebrities, but did include Perry’s parents! — snacked on pizza, plus popcorn and candy from the theater’s concession stand. The pop star, 31, also had warm winter beverages — hot chocolate for the kids, hot toddies for the adults — specially brought in for the festivities.
The evening’s dress code was equally cozy. “Everyone got a onesie Katy designed with Beloved to put on when they got there,” adds the source. “Even Katy wore one!”
Perry’s onesies are out now at Belovedshirts.com/katyperry, starting at $130 for adults and $100 for kids.
