In it to win it! Kendra Wilkinson spoke exclusively with Us Weekly on Thursday, March 31, at the premiere party for season 5 of Kendra on Top, where she opened up about the improved status of her once-troubled marriage with Hank Baskett.
“I learned that being husband and wife is just a label,” the reality star, 30, told Us at the bash, held at Estrella Sunset in West Hollywood. “It becomes, ‘Do you really care about the person, the human underneath the label?’ And I do, and I really do.”
The former Playmate, who shares son Hank Jr., 6, and daughter Alijah, 22 months, with Baskett, 33, went on to explain why she will never abandon the vows she made with the retired NFL wide receiver back in 2009, regardless of their relationship’s rocky past.
“I said, ‘I do,’” the Girls Next Door alum said. “That’s why I married him, to be partners through life, to be friends through life, to experience life together, not to have everything perfect.”
The couple dealt with a highly publicized marital crisis in the summer of 2014, when Us Weekly confirmed that Baskett had cheated on the blonde beauty with a transgender model. The affair went down when Wilkinson was eight-months pregnant with their second child.
Baskett had denied the allegations until he finally came clean to his wife of six years during their stint on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars in 2015. Since then, Wilkinson has found it in her heart to forgive the man she has affectionately called “the love of my life.”
While filming the last season of her hit We TV series wasn’t easy, the mom of two is excited for fans to see her conquer the chaos in her life.
“You’re going to see me struggling to move on in my life and to find peace,” Wilkinson shared with Us. “There are just a couple things that are lingering over my head. That are trying to bring me back down. I’m fighting to try to solve the issues and to find out and to let it go.”
Season 5 of Kendra on Top premieres on We TV on Friday, April 1, at 9 p.m. ET.
