That's kontroversy for KoKo. Khloé Kardashian's family trip to Cuba this week was met with controversy late Wednesday, May 4, after she posted a photo of herself posing beneath a "Fidel" sign in Havana.

Fans, critics and followers immediately expressed outrage beneath the nighttime pic, which shows the lean Keeping Up With the Kardashians star in a stairwell. In the photo, Kardashian wears a form-fitting blush dress with a silver scarf wrapped around her shoulders, and tops her outfit with a wide-brim Panama-style hat. The reality star strikes a pose against the wall, which is inscribed with a quote by Fidel Castro, the former dictator of the country.

What was likely intended to be an artsy snapshot was greeted by jeers instead.

"It is a real shame and a very interesting story with many bad guys," @cherchezlechic commented. "The only victims here are the Cuban people who are left in their island because the ones with power that could help overturn the dictator chose to run away and abandon them. They choose to stay away and complain that other governments or people wont solve their problems while their brothers and sisters die of starvation and live without freedom. Sad indeed."

"It's one thing to go to another country to attend and support a fashion show but another to exploit their people and post this atrocious picture with the name of the man who tortured and killed thousands of people and continues to do so," @michele_n_jason noted. "You're right, if I went to North Korea and posed in a picture supporting their leader and people starving people would just be offended, right?"

One commenter made the issue personal for the Kardashians. "Wow… before you take a picture glorifying Fidel how about you get informed … Fidel is just like the dictators in Armenia that killed so many Armenians," @sutrera0612 wrote. Another person @aariddannee added: "You and your sister talk about the Armenian genocide and want to bring awareness to it, yet you do something like this. With all the money you have, you should invest a little and educate yourself."

Meanwhile, @maneeg commented: "I'm not Cuban I'm Mexican-American.. But this picture is offensive even to me." Another person @rayisalove noted, "This is pretty distasteful. #knowledgeispower."

A true fan of Kardashian's also called out the issue with the photo. "@khloekardashian i like you a lot but you could've posted a picture on another background," @justlimary noted to the star. Do you know who Fidel Castro is ???!! He is a DEMON!!!' If I was you I would delete this post. I know maybe you don't know because you don't have to know . But is not good for your image."

A follower @jamesvalles added on Thursday, May 5, "WHY IS THIS STILL UP?"

Some fans of KoKo, however, defended the reality star amid the backlash. "Gorg!" one person wrote, while another added: "She's more successful and hardworking than most people. It's actually work to become a world wide known brand…."

Despite the drama, Kardashian posted a follow-up snapshot gushing about her latest cultural immersion. "My goal is to expand my mind," the Strong Looks Better Naked author wrote. "Now, it has been filled with new memories and knowledge of culture, food, traditions, daily life…. It will never go back to yesterday's dimensions! I'm so blessed to be able to appreciate another's culture 🙏🏽 God is GREAT! Thank you for my opportunities."
