Hey, it’s a lot cheaper than renting out a stadium! An insider tells Us Weekly that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West spent their first anniversary on May 24 in their $20 million Hidden Hills, Calif., mansion watching Troop Beverly Hills, as DVR’d by Mrs. West. At their side, a private bartender hired just for the occasion served them piña coladas in bed.
Kardashian, 34, then three months pregnant with their son, drank hers sans alcohol and stuck mostly to coconut water.
It makes sense: West, 38, a frozen-drink fanatic, has sampled Rupert Holmes’ “Escape (The Piña Colada Song).” Rapper and friend Theophilus Monk told Elle that Kanye’s been known to “order three drinks because they didn’t make it properly…he makes his own menu.”
And the mom of 2-year-old North is a longtime fan of the cult 1989 Shelly Long flick. Savvy followers of Kardashian’s Vine account will recall an April 12 clip in which the reality star recited its classic line: “I may be a beginner at some things, but I’ve got a black belt in shopping.”
The low-key evening was a far cry from their nuptials last year. After dating for two years, the couple tied the knot at a 16th century fortress in Florence, Italy, with family members and friends such as Chrissy Teigen and John Legend present. She Instagrammed a photo from the ceremony that went on to become the most-liked snapshot of 2014 (2.4 million likes to date!).
“We are forever grateful for these memories! This was the best week of my life!” Kardashian tweeted May 23. West also took a moment to reflect on social media.
“Kim, I’m so happy to be married to the girl of my dreams,” he tweeted May 25. “I love you and Nori so much!!! I would find you in any lifetime.”
