Kim Kardashian is opening up about her dating mindset when things turned romantic with former friend, and now boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton.
“I was really single for five years,” Kardashian, 45, shared in a Saturday, October 3, profile with The Times. “And that felt great. I could focus on my kids and projects that I really wanted to be involved with. I really felt no rush. Like, I really didn’t feel empty. I felt like I needed my time. I wanted to completely heal and just work on myself. I wasn’t ready to open up. I really wasn’t even thinking about it. The universe works in your favour when you just allow it to.”
When asked if she would like to talk about her new romance with the F1 driver, Kardashian told the outlet, “In the most respectful way, I’d probably rather not.”
Kardashian and Hamilton, 41, were first linked earlier this year after their longtime friendship turned romantic. The pair have since been spotted together on multiple occasions, including Super Bowl LX and during a trip to Tokyo.
In August, an insider exclusively told Us that the Kardashians star is considering expanding her family with Hamilton. (Kardashian welcomed four children with ex-husband Kanye West: daughters North, 13, and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7.)
“They are really in love. Kim may want to have more kids with Lewis,” a source close to the pair said at the time. “They just get each other, they get each other’s quirks. She is really happy with him.”
A second insider, meanwhile, shared that the couple are “super in love” and are “such a nice fit” for each other.
“All of their friends and family are so happy that they are so happy together. … They are both really driven and being on the same page about that definitely helps,” the source said at the time.
Since her divorce from West, Kardashian has also been briefly linked to comedian Pete Davidson. In September, Davidson, 32, made headlines when he reflected on his romance with the Skims founder.
“I’m one of the survivors — the few and the proud. We’re like the Marines,” Davidson quipped to Variety about the men who’ve famously dated members of the Kardashian family. “Look, man, that’s a really tough atmosphere if you’re not game. One of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they’re like, ‘This is what we do.’ I found that very attractive and mature.”
