Kim Kardashian Robbery: Hotel Concierge Says Thieves ‘Weren’t There for Jewels’

More terrifying details. The concierge who was held at gunpoint as Kim Kardashian was robbed in her Paris hotel earlier this month says that the thieves were after cash, not the reality star’s multimillion-dollar jewelry.

Abdulrahman, who won’t use his last name due to security concerns, told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, October 26, that the robbers “were there for money.”

The concierge was handcuffed and taken to the first floor, where Kim was staying with her sister Kourtney (who was out with Kendall Jenner on the night of the robbery, October 3) and stylist Simone Harouche.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 36, was on her bed when the five men and Abdulrahman arrived.

“When she saw police, because they were dressed like police, she didn’t understand for a few seconds,” he told ET.

A language barrier complicated things because the thieves were speaking in French and the Selfish author initially thought they wanted her phones.

“[The robber] said, ‘I don’t need phones,’ in French,” but Kim didn’t understand him, “and the guy was asking for money, money, money,” the concierge said.

He added that Kim, who was “screaming like hell” during the heist, believed that they were there for the $4.5 million ring that her husband, Kanye West, had given her.

“She showed her hand … there is no ring, and the guy is like, ‘Where is the ring?'” he continued. “At the moment she gave him her ring — it was on the table close to the floor — she gave the ring to the guy … and he put it in his pocket.”

Abdulrahman says one of the men continued to ask for money, so he told them that Kardashian — who was tied up, locked in her bathroom and held at gunpoint by the thieves during the robbery — didn’t have a lot of cash on her. That’s when one of the men asked for more jewels, and she handed him a jewelry box.

Despite speculation that the thieves had targeted the social-media maven because she showed off her multimillion-dollar jewelry collection on Instagram and Snapchat, Abdulrahman says “they weren’t there for jewels at first, they were there for money.”

After Kim handed the jewelry box to the thief, “he put the jewels in his [backpack] and he left the bag open,” later dropping some jewelry and gold as he made his escape.

The investigation into the robbery is ongoing, and after spending several days holed up at her L.A. home as she dealt with the trauma of being held up at gunpoint, Kim stepped out with BFF Jonathan Cheban on Monday, October 24, for frozen yogurt and attended West’s Saint Pablo show at the Forum in L.A. the following day.
