Kim Richards took a break from rehab and attended her daughter Brooke Brinson’s bridal shower on Thursday, May 14.
Richards, who voluntarily entered rehab after getting arrested for public intoxication last month, joined her eldest daughter for the fete held at sister Kathy Hilton’s home.
“With my beautiful sister and niece @kimrichards11 @brookewiederhorn so happy for you and Thayer! Wish you both a long life together xoxo Aunt K,” Paris Hilton’s mom captioned the sweet family photo, in which Richards looks happy and healthy in a lavender short dress. Kim’s estranged sister Kyle Richards, who was in New York City at upfronts, was not at the shower.
The family photo-op came the same day Us Weekly confirmed that Richards had been officially charged in the drunken Beverly Hills Hotel incident. According to police reports, the 50-year-old former child star was “under the influence of intoxicating liquor and a drug, a controlled substance, and toluene.” According to TMZ, Richards could potentially face two years in jail.
Brinson, who already married Fatburger restaurant heir Thayer Wiederhorn in an intimate family ceremony at Hilton’s home last year, plans to walk down the aisle with her husband for a second ceremony in Mexico.
During an interview with Dr. Phil, Richards explained that filming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills took a toll on her.
“Living through this season on the show, sometimes it’s hard enough to get through it. The fans are very hard on me, and I went on Twitter to see what people were saying and it was just horrible,” she told the host.
Her daughter also weighed in on her arrest, admitting that “this is the best thing that could have happened” in that Richards will finally seek treatment.
