Scott Disick hasn’t always said and done the right things at the right time, but over the last several years, he’s made a conscious effort to be there for girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian and their two kids, Mason, 3, and Penelope, 11 months. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Kourtney, 34, acknowledged her beau’s hard work with a sweet message posted to Instagram on Sunday, June 16 — one day after sister Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West became first-time parents. “Happy Father’s Day to my heart and soul,” she captioned a photo of her longtime love with their son and daughter.
Disick, 30, is indeed the picture of a proud papa. Speaking to Us Weekly about his children in November, he said Mason was his “best friend” and Penelope was “beautiful.”
“Having two kids is, like, you couldn’t be more legit. It’s the real deal: Kourtney and I are Mom and Dad,” he raved. “I mean, my son is my world and my daughter is my new world. It’s pretty unbelievable starting another chapter in your life.”
Kourtney, for her part, told Us in December that she never loves Disick more than when she sees him interact with their kids. “When Scott’s playing with our children, those are the moments where I’m like, ‘Wow, he’s amazing. I chose the right guy!'” she gushed.
Father’s Day was also an occasion for the reality star to remember the Kardashian girls’ late father, Robert Kardashian. (Robert, a famed defense attorney who worked on the O.J. Simpson trial, died in 2003 at age 59, just eight weeks after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer.)
“The luckiest daughter in the world to have had him,” Kourtney shared on Sunday, alongside an old picture of her late father.
The Kardashian family had a lot to celebrate over the weekend, as 32-year-old Kim gave birth to her first child with boyfriend West. The five-weeks early baby girl is “beautiful,” Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner gushed to Showbiz Tonight on June 16, one day after Us Weekly confirmed the tot’s birth.
“We are all good and extremely happy and thrilled for the new baby,” she said. “The baby is doing great.”
