The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards and estranged husband Mauricio Umansky came together to send daughter Portia off on her next chapter.
Richards’ eldest daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, shared a sweet video montage of the family traveling together at an airport. (Richards shares Farrah, 37, with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie, to whom she was married from 1988 to 1992. She is also a mom to daughters Alexia, 30, Sophia, 26, and Portia, 18, with Umansky.)
In the clip, Richards and Umansky sat beside each other on an airplane before heading to the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The family was then seen moving Portia into her dorm room before taking a stroll around the area and hugging her goodbye.
“Took the baby to college 🥹📚,” Farrah wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, August 18. “Somehow we are here… cute fact @portia_umansky is also my goddaughter 💁🏻♀️ @kylerichards18 asked me when she was pregnant with her (and I was 19) if I would be her godmother. I remember feeling like that was the biggest honor ever to be asked!!! And it’s a title I still love to hold…”
She continued, “Portia and I have actually never lived in the same house because I was already in college when she was born and never moved back in with the fam after. Nonetheless, very very emo and bittersweet to be dropping her off to school- wouldn’t have missed it for the world (even while pregnant and sick) and wanted to document this moment 🤍 love you sooooo much @portia_umansky my queen… ( @alexiaumansky almost cancelled her honeymoon to be there with us but we told her not to ).”
Richards and Umansky’s appearance together comes three years after the pair announced their separation following 27 years of marriage. Neither has filed for divorce.
“I can remember I would hear about other couples that would split up after being married so many years and their kids getting married and having babies,” Richards said in a RHOBH season 15 finale confessional as she prepared for Alexia’s wedding.
She continued, “I would think, ‘That’s so stupid, why would they do that?’ And then, I’m like, how did we get here? To have all these big life moments happening now. Having Alexia go off and get married and Portia go to college, it feels strange to be on my own.”
Richards went on to admit that her feelings about her separation from Umansky change every day.
“Some days I feel OK and strong, and I’m proud of myself for being as strong as I am,” she said. “And other days, I feel scared. Other days I’m worried.”
