The Latin Times reported this week that the bodies of Landry’s father-in-law, Juan Manuel Gomez Fernandez, and her brother-in-law, Juan Manuel Gomez Monteverde, were discovered in the remote town of Pueblo Viejo in the Veracruz region of the country. The victims were held hostage for 16 days after they were kidnapped outside of their home in early September.

In the interim, a ransom was paid for the victims’ release, but the kidnappers ultimately backtracked on their word and murdered the father and son.

As Us Weekly previously confirmed, Landry, 42, and her husband, 38, scattered the ashes of their family members off the coast of Tampico, Mexico, on Wednesday. A Mass for the men will be held on Friday, at a church in L.A.

Meanwhile, friends like Richards have been stopping by to pay their respects to Landry and Monteverde during their time of grieving.

Landry and Richards are longtime friends and most recently reunited at a red carpet event sponsored by Landry’s app, Favored.By, on Sept. 19. The pair both walked the red carpet at the 4th Annual Red CARpet Safety Awareness Event in L.A., and Landry updated Us Weekly about her kids’ latest milestones.

“I have two boys, and I’m telling you, it is party central in their room,” she gushed to Us. “They are jumping around. They’re both in their cribs still, they throw things at each other… The boys are playing together, which is amazing, and so cute.”
