Standing by her side. Lady Gaga — plus other celebrities and many, many fans — reached out to Taylor Swift on Thursday, April 9, tweeting at the country-turned-pop star after Swift broke the news that her mother has been diagnosed with cancer.
Swift, 25, announced the sad update on Thursday in a Tumblr post. She gave few details on Andrea Swift's condition, but told supporters "I'm writing to you with an update I wish I wasn’t giving you, but it's important and I'm used to sharing important events in my life with you."
The "Style" singer added simply, "I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer," explaining that she decided to share the news so that others would check up on their parents' health.
Lady Gaga, 29, who recently had another sweet exchange with Swift over social media, reached out to her pal to send a message of support. "God bless you and your mama and family, we'll all be praying @taylorswift13," she wrote.
