Lindsey Vonn Accepts "Ski to the city" from VAIL.

Athletes, they're just like us! Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn showed that she can take a joke while at a public appearance at the Vail Celebration of Champions in Vail, Colo. on Friday, March 29. The athlete appeared to be in good spirits despite still having a brace on her right knee following surgery last month.

The skier, who looked excited to be honored alongside fellow skier Mikaela Shiffrin at the event, was answering a question about how she spends her free time when a member of the crowd inexplicably yelled out "Tiger Woods" in the middle of her comments.

Vonn, 28, broke out into a huge grin before tackling the elephant in the room with candor: "Okay guys, I play golf," she admitted with a laugh.

Just last month, Vonn and her pro golfer beau, 37, confirmed their relationship on Facebook, leading to an outpouring of reactions from their fans, both positive and negative.

"He is probably cheating on you right now," one Facebook user commented.

In the public announcement, which was accompanied by several professionally shot photographs of the happy couple, the pair admitted that they had been friends for "some time," but both had decided to take their relationship one step further in the past few months.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret, but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," the Olympic skier wrote on her official Facebook page on Monday, March 18.

Vonn's friends tell Us that the relationship is rooted in a mutual understanding that may be difficult to comprehend from an outsider's point of view.

"No one else gets what athletes at that level go through," a source told Us. "They train all the time!"

Rumors that the pair were more than athletic colleagues began to surface late last year, after Vonn admitted that her brother Reed Kildow, 23, was giving Woods' kids ski lessons, though she denied any romance.

"We are just friends," she told the Denver Post at the time. Dating Woods could cause a major hit to Vonn's public persona, however.

"What female-focused company wants its spokesperson dating a former sex addict?" a worried Vonn pal told Us of infamous cheater Woods. Still, the pair, who first met last April at Woods' Tiger Jam charity fundraiser in Las Vegas, are going forward with their relationship.

"Tiger and Lindsey had a lot in common," a source tells the new Us of the pair's romantic beginnings. "They immediately clicked."
