Appreciate the honesty. Marc Jacobs stunned his followers when he posted a nude selfie — side view, in case you missed it — on Instagram on Tuesday, June 30 — but he really was just trying to flirt a little, okay?

The 52-year-old fashion designer explained to a follower on Instagram that he accidentally posted the revealing shot of his bare butt on the social media site while chatting up a fellow hottie.

“Yeah. I accidentally posted a pic of my bare ass and took it down,” he explained. “I was flirting with someone I met on Instagram. Meant to send it by DM. Oops, my mistake. I apologize to anyone it offended. I'm a gay man. I flirt and chat with guys online sometimes. BIG DEAL!"

The photo, which revealed a bit more than just his derriere if you know what we mean, went viral after it hit the app with the caption: “It’s yours to try!”

His fans, however, didn’t seem to mind his faux pas.

“No shame in your game. If you got it, flaunt it,” one responded to Jacobs’ explanation, while another added: “DM me Mr. Jacobs,” with a string of appropriate Emojis.
