Influencers Matt and Abby Howard announced their newborn’s name.
“Welcome to the family Fischer 🥳,” Abby, 27, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, August 27, documenting the moments leading up to her son’s birth in a new video.
She placed her hand over the lens before cutting to a precious clip of herself cradling her little one with Matt, 28, standing at her side. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, looked down at their baby boy and beamed with pride.
Fans were quick to share their opinions on Fischer’s name in the comments section.
“Oh Fischer is a killer name,” one wrote. Another added, “Griffin, August and Fischer are sooo cute.” A third commented, “Congratulations! Perfect name for a perfect baby 💙.”
Abby, who is also the mom of Griffin, 4, and August, 3, opened up about her “redemptive birth” experience on Monday, August 24, after facing a pregnancy loss earlier this year.
“My redemptive birth (VBAC after loss),” Abby captioned the reel, referring to a vaginal birth after cesarean. She started the video by documenting her contractions before getting an epidural.
After birthing her third son, Abby teared up and asked if he was “OK.” She got confirmation that he was healthy and weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces. “I’m so happy you’re here,” she gushed. Matt held their bundle of joy before ending the video.
Abby’s birth video comes after she and Matt got candid about suffering a pregnancy loss with their third baby, daughter Emerson.
“It is with very heavy hearts that we share about the loss of our baby girl born far too soon,” the pair wrote via Instagram in September 2025. “At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat. Shortly after, they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news.’”
Their message continued, “That is when we got the gender reveal we never hoped for and also the news that our baby had a genetic condition that took her life around 17 weeks gestation.”
Matt and Abby met at ages 14 and 13, respectively, while performing in a production of Marry Poppins in their native, St. Louis, Missouri. In 2016, Matt officially asked her to be his girlfriend. The pair then went to college together at Missouri State University. In August 2018, Matt got down on one knee and proposed to Abby at Disney World. The following year, they got married during their sophomore year in college.
