It’s officially over. Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner’s divorce has been finalized.
Us Weekly has confirmed that the former couple’s four-year marriage came to an end as of Wednesday, December 20, almost a year after the Supergirl star filed for divorce. TMZ is reporting that the former couple reached a property settlement agreement that they didn’t file with the court and that the actress’ maiden name has been restored.
According to the court documents obtained by the site, the actress, 29, cited “irreconcilable differences” for their split in 2016 and also added that she didn’t want either of them to receive spousal support. The Glee actors haven’t publicly opened up about their separation, but a source told Us Weekly that their work schedules had come between them since she was filming The CW series in Vancouver, Canada.
“The distance was an issue, things weren’t working,” the source told Us about the split. “It’s amicable and mutual.”
Jenner, 25, and Benoist met on the set of the Fox series, where they played Ryder Lynn and Marley Rose from 2012 to 2014. The duo dated for a year before Us broke the news that they were engaged in July 2013. The former couple then secretly tied the knot in March 2015 and kept it under wraps until July 2015 when The CW star was spotted wearing a silver band on her ring finger at Comic-Con.
A source told Us at the time that the wedding was, “very small with their families there.” The pair celebrated their marriage with a honeymoon in Europe where they shared several photos together with their Instagram followers.
Benoist has been dating her Supergirl costar and onscreen love Chris Wood since early 2017.
