Can’t breathe! Michael Douglas was more than a little uncomfortable when he recreated Basic Instinct’s famous scene (yes, that one!) on Thursday, April 16, during The Late Late Show.
The Oscar winner, 70, reprised his role as Detective Nick Curran for the hilarious parody, with host James Corden playing Sharon Stone’s devilish Catherine Tramell. Rocking a ridiculous blonde wig and tight white dress, the Into the Woods star did not disappoint as he, ahem, uncrossed his legs — twice!
Unlike in the thriller, however, Tramell’s seductive pose didn’t leave Curran all hot and bothered. Instead, Douglas began to vomit (so gross!) in his hand.
Stone’s revealing scene has been parodied several times since its 1992 debut. In fact, the actress — who reprised her role in 2006’s Basic Instinct 2 — briefly recreated the moment (with underwear!) during a Conan appearance in August 2013. At the time, the 57-year-old also recalled running into a fan who just so happened to have a photo of the scene printed on his T-shirt.
“He was across the street and he looked at me and looked stunned. He came up to me and said, ‘This is going to sound very creepy but [points to his shirt,]'” she explained. “I said, ‘We have to take a photo in this case.’ It was so cute.”
