Michael Jackson's body will be at the public memorial service at the Staples Center today, Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton has confirmed.
Teddy Riley, who produced Jackson's Dangerous album, also revealed details of what will happen today at 10 a.m. PST inside the Staples Center, where Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson and Usher are expected to perform.
"The superstars are going to come out and sing some songs," Riley explained to CNN. "There will be a band, conducting. We're just going to jam."
More than 1.6 million fans applied for the approximately 17,000 available seats inside the Staples Center and Nokia Theater, which will simulcast the event. Several tickets were sold for upwards of $20,000 online.
On Monday, Jackson's mother, Katherine, and his siblings gathered at L.A.'s Forest Lawn Memorial Park for a private viewing. Bodyguards attempted to shield a draped casket.
