Michael Phelps Shares Adorable Footage of Baby Boy Boomer Learning to Swim

Like father, like son! Michael Phelps‘ baby boy, Boomer, took the plunge and had one of his first swim lessons on Monday, November 28, and his daddy captured every adorable moment for a Facebook Live video.

The celebrated Olympian, 31, cradled the 6-month-old, who clung to his father while being carried around in the water.

“He’s been crying,” Phelps admitted. “He put his face in the water and he didn’t really like that too much. Now he’s just grabbing on for dear life.”

Phelps was back in his hometown of Baltimore for the holidays, so Boomer got to swim at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center where his dad used to train.

He even got a lesson from Cathy Bennett, the woman who taught Phelps how to swim when he was 6 years old.

In the lengthy post, Boomer is encouraged to float on his back in the water, but the tiny tyke isn’t keen and grabs onto his famous father’s face instead.

Despite being slightly unsure of the water, he eventually drifts off to sleep in Phelps’ arms.
