UPDATE: Commander Steve Stocker, Auburn PD spokesman, tells Us Weekly that at 1 p.m. a body had "been found in a wooded area near Forest Ridge Dr. in Auburn…at the bottom of a 150 embankment near the White River." Stocker's statement included: "A purse containing identification of Misty Upham was at the scene, however, at this time the medical examiner has not made a positive identification nor a determination of cause of death."
According to TMZ, Upham's family said one of their search teams found a body in a ravine near Seattle's White River on Thursday, Oct. 16. Although they have yet to reach the body because of a steep terrain, searchers believe it's Upham.
Local news station KIRO7 previously reported that Upham's father claimed she was acting "suicidal" in recent weeks. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, however, her father said: "I don’t think she would have taken her own life. I don’t want to think she is dead."
TMZ reports police are investigating the situation as the story develops.
