Ned Fulmer is looking back on his cheating scandal and how he came clean to his ex-wife, Ariel Fulmer.

During the Monday, April 13, episode of Ryan Sickler’s “HoneyDew” podcast, Ned, 38, recalled telling Ariel, 40, about his affair while they were in the car together on their way to a hotel to get ready for a family friend’s wedding.

“She says … ‘This person sent me this message. Were you in New York with your sister or something?’ And I was like, ‘No, I was with this person,’” Ned explained. “Then [I] said how long [it had] been going on for and what the extent of it was.”

Ned recalled Ariel telling him to turn the car around, which he did. He drove her to an airport hotel and attended the wedding ceremony by himself.

The podcaster said he “lived in a hotel for a few days” when he and Ariel returned home to Los Angeles.

“It was devastating for her. And it was really emotional,” he added.

Ned — who was one of the founding members of the content creation group the Try Guys — made headlines in 2022 when he admitted to having an affair with one of the company’s employees. The scandal came to light after photos surfaced featuring him and his colleague Alexandria Herring.

Ned released a since-deleted statement confirming that he did have a “consensual workplace relationship.” He then took a step back from social media for three years to focus on his family, including his and Ariel’s two sons, Wesley, 7, and Finn, 5.

Meanwhile, the remaining Try Guys members announced that Ned was “no longer working” with the group.

Ned recalled on Monday’s podcast episode that he and Herring, 34, were initially caught by her then-fiancé, who confronted Ned about the affair via a phone call.

“He was very upset,” the Florida native added.

Ned said he and Herring briefly stopped their relationship after getting caught by her ex, but they later resumed seeing each other.

After admitting to the affair, Ned said he told Ariel he wanted to try to work things out between them. (A spokesperson for Ned confirmed in September 2025 that he and Ariel had ultimately separated.)

“I think it took us the better part of two years to really decide whether we were going to continue working on it or not,” he said, recalling that he lived in a separate house on their property while they coparented their children.

“We [were] doing it a lot together as we [were] doing therapy and working through it,” he said of their coparenting dynamic.

Ned said he ultimately moved into a “rehab type of place” for a “therapeutic separation” from Ariel.

“It was so healing for me to be able to so openly talk about how I totally f***ed my life up,” he added.

After going through therapy together and individually, Ned and Ariel decided that they wanted to have a “friendship and a coparenting relationship.”

Ned also reflected on why he cheated on his wife.

“I think I cheated because I was selfish and I was unhappy, and I didn’t have the tools to understand that unhappiness and that emptiness,” he said. “And it was easier to kind of fill that void with something external. And then once it started happening, it kind of becomes like a runaway train where it’s like, your body chemistry and all of those things that make people fall in love with each other and all of that kind of gets hijacked.”
