Come again? Netflix is really trying to please its subscribers. The Internet streaming company released directions on how to build your very own “Netflix and Chill” wireless button.
Netflix named their new invention “The Switch.” Netflix users, however, quickly coined it the “Netflix and Chill.” The phrase went viral earlier this year for becoming a code for casual sex, aka doing a little NSFW activity while binge-watching your favorite TV shows.
“Netflix and Chill” also led to hilarious memes and vines. Back in June, Netflix even joked about it by posting a scene from the 1995 comedy Clueless. “Netflix and chill? No, really,” the company captioned a pic of Cher (Alicia Silverstone) trying to get flirty. Her crush, meanwhile, had his eyes glued to the TV.
Netflix introduced its new prototype at the 2015 World Maker Faire in New York over the weekend. It gave step-by-step directions on how to make your own and what items are needed to build it, such as a battery, an IT transmitter, and LEDs. So, what does it do? Just about everything you need to set the mood for a little hanky panky! It dims your lights, turns on Netflix, silences your phone, and even orders food. (Seamless, anyone?)
“The Switch” will do “everything you need to get ready for a Netflix marathon with just one press,” the company said. No word on if Netflix will supply the materials, but the company is open to other gadget ideas for the future.
