Nothing but nice! Nicole Scherzinger opened up about her race-car driver ex Lewis Hamilton and why they don’t speak these days after ending their eight year on-and-off relationship in 2015.
The “Don’t Hold Your Breath” singer, 38, said that there’s no bad blood despite their lack of friendly interactions. “I don’t see anything negative; I think it’s quite natural when people separate and go their own ways. You just have to be an adult about it and just always wish the other person happiness, success and love — like, sincerely — and I do,” she said during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show that airs on Saturday, October 29. “We don’t, like, talk.”
The former Pussycat Doll praised the Formula 1 driver, 31, for his athletic abilities. “I think he is the best driver since Ayrton Senna, and I think that he’s probably going to win this year,” she said. “I only wish him happiness and success.”
The “Poison” singer, who has now moved on with tennis player Grigor Dimitrov, said she prioritized her music over her love life for many years. “I’ve probably matured a little later in relationships and [in] my life, because I started at such a young age,” she said. “I was in my first group when I was 18. I was always so focused on working so much, so I didn’t have much time for relationships. I feel like I was just able to get to experience things a little later after work. … As you get older, you find more balance in life.”
The news that the former couple are no longer in touch comes after Hamilton ignited rumors of a reconciliation by posting a photo with Scherzinger’s three young nieces last week. “My favourite lil ones. Been so much fun spending the with you!” he captioned a selfie in the car with the girls on October 25.
