Tapping out. War veteran Noah Galloway and his fiancee, Jamie Boyd, have called off their five-month engagement. The former Dancing With the Stars contestant made the announcement via Instagram on Monday, Oct. 26.
“After long and careful consideration we’ve decided to end our engagement. We love each other deeply and we’re confident we will remain friends,” Galloway, 33, captioned a pic of the pair. “While we wanted to share this you, we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Boyd simultaneously posted a red carpet photo of the now-exes with a similar comment. “We can’t thank you enough for all your unwavering love and support. It has meant, and means, so much to us so we wanted to share this with you firsthand,” she wrote via Instagram. “This is a very difficult time and we appreciate y’all for respecting our privacy as we go through this.”
As previously reported, Galloway popped the question to the Army Reserves specialist during a live show of the ABC dancing competition this past May. (Galloway — who lost his two left limbs in 2005 from a bomb blast in Iraq — finished Season 20 in third place with his pro partner Sharna Burgess.)
“The day I met her, I knew that this was going to be somebody I was going to ask to marry me,” Galloway, who has three young children from two previous marriages, told Us Weekly at the time. “She’s really made me a better person because of who she is and what she stands for.”
Boyd added: “[I love] his beautiful heart and his strong spirit. It has been very evident just how amazing of a person he is.”
