Patti LaBelle is a lady, y’all! The “New Attitude” diva wasn’t having it when a fan started to get down and dirty on her stage during a concert in Vancouver on Friday, Sept. 18 — and she let him know!
At one point during her show at the Hard Rock Casino, the legendary singer invited a few fans up to the stage to sing and dance with her. One young man, however, took the invitation too far, and began to unbutton his shirt.
“Don’t you dare, not on my stage,” she told the fan. “I am 71-years-young and I am not Nicki Minaj or that little, uh, Miley.”
When the fan ignored LaBelle’s warning and continued to strike provocative poses, the singer called for backup, motioning for security.
“Get off my goddarn stage, bitch,” LaBelle yelled after the man as he was escorted off the stage. “And stay off. Put him out of the building. Put him out! How dare you!”
LaBelle then carried on, to the cheers and applause of the audience, but felt bad a little later on and apologized for her outburst.
“I’m so sorry,” she said. “I’m a Gemini and things come out of my mouth sometimes that I try to control …[but] don’t ever come in my face again.”
