No Beatlemania here!
Music megastars Paul McCartney, Beck and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins were denied entry into Tyga’s 2016 Grammys afterparty at the Argyle in Los Angeles on Monday, February 15.
TMZ posted a video of the trio patiently waiting to get into the nightclub before the bouncers turned them away — twice! The Beatles legend, 73, joked in response to their rejection, “How VIP do we gotta get? We need another hit, guys. Work on it!”
Beck, 45, laughed and reassured him that “next year, next year” the most influential musician of all time might be allowed into the post-Grammys hot spot.
After the baffling rejection, the musicians walked away and hopped back into the car with the rest of their crew. They later made their way to the Republic Records Grammys afterparty at Hyde Sunset Kitchen + Cocktails, where they were ushered in without a problem.
The iconic Brit didn’t let the incident stop him from having a great night at the Republic Records bash. “Paul McCartney came with Woody Harrelson and they were dancing like crazy,” a source tells Us Weekly.
Tyga took to Twitter the next day to clear up the mishap: “Why would I deny @PaulMcCartney stop it. He’s a legend.”
“I don’t control the door,” the 26-year-old rapper added. “I had no knowledge SIR PAUL was there. I just performed and left.”
