Paul Walker's mother has petitioned the court to be the guardian of her late son's daughter, Meadow

Paul Walker's mother wants to be the guardian of his daughter, Meadow.

Cheryl Ann Walker filed a legal petition on Tuesday to be appointed custodian of her 15-year-old granddaughter, and also administer the $16 million-plus estate the teen inherited from the late "Fast & Furious" actor when he was killed in a car crash last November.

According to the court documents obtained by Yahoo, both Meadow and her mother, Walker's ex-girlfriend Rebecca McBrain (also referenced as Soteros), live with Cheryl Ann.

Cheryl Ann, a registered nurse, also claims that Rebecca "has a drinking problem."

The 40-year-old actor's will revealed in February that he had listed his mother, Cheryl Ann, as Meadow's guardian. (The document, prepared in January 2001, also put the actor's net worth at $25 million. There is no immediate explanation for the discrepancy between that amount and the figure cited in his mother's filing.)

In one of Paul's last interviews, the "Varsity Blues" star spoke to "ET Canada" about how Meadow would factor into projects he would take on.

"She's gotta be on board," said Walker, who sported a tattoo of his daughter's name on his wrist. "I'm only going to have her in the house for another couple years. … I gotta put in the time while I can."

Paul even said he was focused too much on fatherhood rather than finding a significant other: "Right now there's only time for her."

Meadow lived with her mother in Hawaii, while Paul lived in L.A. for much of the girl's childhood. However, she and Paul were closer than ever in the last few years after she moved in with him.
