Will and Kate, is that you?
In honor of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s one year wedding anniversary, Madame Tussaud’s London museum unveiled some very special wax figures on Wednesday: Prince William and Kate Middleton, immortalized in their engagement announcement ensembles.
Kate’s lifelike figure wears a blue dress modeled after the Issa frock she donned for the November 2010 press conference and photo shoot.
“We created the engagement scene, that press call when they both looked a little bit nervous but so happy–that’s what we wanted to come across,” artist Louis Wiltshire, who sculpted Kate’s head, told the Telegraph.
The world watched Will, 29, and Kate, 30, tie the knot in a breathtaking ceremony on April 29, 2011. Nearly one year later, the newlyweds are thrilled to be reunited after Will’s six-week deployment to the Falklands. (Will, Kate, and Kate’s family–including her siblings, Pippa and James Middleton–headed to France for a ski trip in honor of Prince Will’s return.)
Between Prince William’s homecoming and their approaching anniversary, the royal couple has plenty to celebrate. One thing they aren’t ready to fete? Baby news. Despite reports to the contrary, an insider tells Us Weekly Kate and Will aren’t set to become parents just yet. “Kate is not pregnant or about to make a pregnancy announcement,” the insider shares.
