His Royal Highness Hamster! Kate Middleton revealed on Wednesday, May 4, that her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, have a pet hamster. And the best part? His name is Marvin!
The Duchess of Cambridge, 34, told a 9-year-old named Darcey about their furry friend at the opening of the Hampton Court Palace’s new children’s play area Magic Garden.
“[She] said she had a hamster, and [Princess] Charlotte really likes it because the whiskers always tickle her face,” Darcey said of her chat with Middleton.
The royal family also have a dog named Lupo.
During the Duchess’ visit with school children at the Magic Garden, Middleton joked that her daughter’s older brother, George, would have been a “bit scared” of the new playground’s 25-foot dragon.
A 7-year-old named Aqeelah Raamah also reportedly — and adorably! — asked Middleton to play.
“I said, ‘Would you like to go down the slide?'” Raamah recalled. “She said she is going to bring her jeans and trainers next time so she can go down.”
