Things aren’t quite as complicated as they might seem. Prince Harry has two exes whom he’s still in touch with — but while he’s dating one, he’s just friends with the other.
As Us Weekly exclusively reports in the latest issue, the young royal is currently rekindling the flame with his former college sweetheart, Chelsy Davy, but remains close pals with Cressida Bonas, from whom he split in 2014 after two years of dating.
“She doesn’t want Harry back. She doesn’t look at him like that anymore,” a source close to Bonas tells Us in response to media reports that the socialite wants to give it another go. “Their relationship is very much a thing of the past.”
Adds another source, “They’re close friends and have remained so since they broke up. But there’s nothing romantic going on between them.”
The pair, who first began dating in 2012 after Princess Eugenie of York, Harry’s cousin, introduced them, amicably went their separate ways in September 2014 after a brief break in April that year.
They have remained good friends ever since, with Harry showing support for the 26-year-old’s acting career at a rendition of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest in London this past March.
“They’re not back together or getting back together,” a pal told Us of the couple at the time. “Him going to The Importance of Being Earnest was him supporting someone who has been an important part of his life. They both still talk and support each other’s work.”
Instead, the prince, who turned 31 on Tuesday, Sept. 15, has his energies focused on Davy, 29, whom he dated on and off from 2004 to 2011. The South African lawyer is currently in London ahead of his birthday celebrations. (Harry and a few pals, including Bonas, had drinks at a pub earlier this week prior to the bigger event).
“They decided they would like to give their relationship another chance,” a source close to Harry tells Us of the pair. “They still have strong feelings for each other.”
Sources tell Us that the two have been secretly meeting up since they reconnected in February.
