Update: Prince is OK after being rushed to a hospital for flu symptoms, a rep for the musician told TMZ. The singer had been battling the illness for several weeks and spent three hours in an Illinois hospital on Friday, April 15, before he was released. He is now back at home.

Original story: Music legend Prince was rushed to the hospital after his private plane made an emergency landing in Illinois on Friday, April 15, TMZ reports.

The "When Doves Cry" singer's jet reportedly made an unscheduled landing at Quad City International Airport in Rock Island County, Illinois, shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday. He was reportedly taken to an area hospital via ambulance.

Another insider told the site that the musician is "not doing well" and is still in the hospital. The specific medical issue is not yet known.

Prince had canceled two concerts in Atlanta earlier this month due to illness, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, 57, released his latest album, HITnRUN Phase One, in September 2015.
