The queen, 84, wore a bright red coat and matching hat as William showed her around. The winds were so strong that the 28-year-old prince was concerned the queen would lose her chapeau! "I was worried your hat would blow off!"

The trip marked William's sixth month as a royal air force search and rescue pilot. He described his job to the BBC as "quite exciting" and "unpredictable. But at the same time it's great that you get to go out and actually save somebody's life, hopefully, or at least make a difference to somebody."

William admitted he was extremely nervous about his upcoming nuptials to longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton on April 29. "I was telling everyone I did the rehearsal the other day and my knees started tapping quite nervously," he said. "It's quite a daunting prospect but very exciting and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it, but there's still a lot of planning to be done in the last four weeks."
