Jon Hamm recently made headlines for speaking poorly about two of the biggest names in reality TV — but he was hardly the first A-list actor to do so.
"I get it, girls, that it's cool to be a bad girl," Witherspoon told the audience. "But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show."
In a dig that seemed to take aim at Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, both 31, Witherspoon continued: "When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed."
Hamm, 41, made similar comments to ELLE UK's April 2012 issue. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated," the Friends With Kids actor complained. "Being a f-cking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly."
While Hilton has yet to comment on Hamm's statement, Kardashian responded via Twitter Monday.
"I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life," the E! reality star wrote. "We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."
