L.A. Ink, starring Reese Witherspoon?
Over the summer, the squeaky-clean Oscar-winner, 35, showed off her edgier side — on her toned tummy — while vacationing with new husband Jim Toth and her kids Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7.
Clad in a bikini, the How Do You Know star debuted a sizable tattoo just above her bikini line: a star flanked by two small birds. Fans of the blonde, blue-eyed actress wondered what inspired Witherspoon's ink.
"She has had the star tattoo for a few years," a source close to Witherspoon tells Us Weekly. "After she and Jim got married, she added two birds — one to each side of the star."
(After over a year of dating, Witherspoon wed CAA agent Toth, 40, in March at her ranch in Ojai, Calif.)
"She had wanted to do something new and different for a while," the source continues of the stamp. "In some ways, [the star tattoos] kind of symbolized their new life and love together. People consider Reese to be such an All-American sweetheart so it is more unexpected for her to have ink."
And maybe that's just the point. "She loves it — and so does Jim."
