Rihanna and Chris Brown may be broken up — for now, at least — but the "We Found Love" singer isn't exactly sitting at home and crying into a pint of Ben & Jerry's. Quite the opposite, in fact: Since the split, the newly single star has been busy traveling the world on her Diamonds tour and partying with pals including Katy Perry.
A source tells Us Weekly that the BFFs met up at Rihanna's concert in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on Tuesday, May 7. Perry, also single since splitting with musician John Mayer in March, was at the show with Raising Hope actress Shannon Woodward.
"Throw it [up], throw it [up], that's how we [ball] out," she tweeted before the performance, along with the hashtag "immacomintogetyouRiRi."
After the show, Perry — "gorgeous" in a black outfit with sparkly embellishments — joined her pal backstage. "They hung out like old times and were catching up," an onlooker tells Us of the pair.
The happy hangout came just one day after Rihanna's on-again, off-again love Brown was spotted partying with friends at the Standard Hotel's Met Gala after-party on Monday, May 6. An eyewitness at the star-studded bash told Us that the "Don't Wake Me Up" singer was "putting on a big show, dancing and screaming" along to the music. He seemed especially "into the message" of Gotye's hit song "Somebody That I Used to Know," and he made a point of getting up to dance to Rihanna's "Only Girl in the World."
Brown recently opened up about his relationship with Rihanna during an interview with Australia's The Kyle and Jackie Show. "I'm always gonna love that person," he said of their split. "But people have differences and people have different wants and needs. And at the end of the day, she's a young girl. I can't really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young…I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be, instead of worrying about whoever else is going to be in my side pocket."
