Former NFL star Rob Gronkowski spilled all the tea on the raffle system at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding.
“I did [participate in the raffle],” Gronkowski, 37, told People in a new interview published on Thursday, July 30. “I was trying to win something for my girl, Camille [Kostek],” he explained.
The retired Patriots player continued, “I participated because — what was really cool was that you had to play the games in order to get the raffle tickets, so that was really, really cool.”
He noted that guests had to “earn” the tickets before entering their name in a raffle. “It wasn’t no hand-me-outs; you had to earn the raffle tickets, and that’s what made it so much fun,” Gronkowski shared.
Earlier this month, a source exclusively told Us that coveted prizes included Chanel purses, a Cartier watch, jewelry and a vintage 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.
During his new interview, Gronkowski also gushed about how much fun he was having at the wedding, saying, “It was so cool to see it live, to be able to have a good time on the dance floor and to mingle with so many people in my industry, but also so many people in other industries.”
He admitted to being “a little bit starstruck” by other celebrity guests, “I mean, when you meet someone that’s been your hero, that you’ve been watching, but you’ve just gotta play it cool, though.”
The athlete also called it a “magnificent” ceremony. “For how big it was, it was very intimate still,” he explained. “There’s no doubt about it.”
Days after the ceremony, an insider exclusively told Us “the entire wedding had an enchanted garden-inspired vibe,” describing the color palette as soft blush and light peach, giving it a romantic aesthetic that was a fitting choice for the couple.
Another source said Kelce, 36, and Swift, 36, delivered emotional and “heartfelt vows” that took “everyone back to how they first met and the journey that led them here.”
While Gronkowski was not a raffle winner at the wedding, other guests shared the prizes they earned.
Singer Aimee Mayo took home a pastel pink Chanel bag featuring silver hardware. “Thank you @taylorswift @killatrav, I never win anything (as far as tickets 🎟️ go),” she captioned a social media video. “I’ve never had a Chanel purse. The whole night was Willy Wonka Wonderful ✨✨✨.”
Mayo, 54, continued, “My daughter said it smelled like money. It kind of does. Look at this s***. Look at this! Oh my gosh, and then, when you open it … [there’s the raffle] ticket.” She then held up the ticket, which featured interlocking “T’s” and hearts.
Jackie Tranquill also took home a black Chanel bag worth $6,700. “Freedom, Friends & fútbol,” she captioned a photo of the purse. “Congrats to the newlyweds and Happy 250th America & of course, let’s go USA!”
