Turns out it’s hard to scoop ice cream with prosthetic arms! Sandra Bullock proved she is one of the queens of comedy on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The Our Brand Is Crisis star, 51, appeared on The Tonight Show where host Jimmy Fallon brought up their supposed pre-fame past on the Canadian soap opera known as Jacob’s Patience.
Although Bullock seemed to remember the production fondly, Fallon, 41, thought otherwise.
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but you’re a little difficult to work with,” Fallon said to a surprised Sandy. “For one thing, you refused to use your own arms in any of the scenes.”
“At the time I was a hand model for Ring Pops,” Bullock explained. “So they had my arms insured for like $50,000 a piece.”
Instead, the Oscar-winning actress used prosthetic arms as she worked in the ice cream shop Sandy’s Scoopery, which was a spoof on Cold Stone Creamery — awkward employee sing-alongs and all. The scene turned disastrous as she tried to pick up cones, scoop ice cream, and pour hot fudge with the fake arms.
