It’s over. Us Weekly can confirm that Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Marie Shay filed for divorce from her husband, Mike Shay, on November 30.
In a joint statement, the couple tells Us, “While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship. Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters. We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other’s personal happiness and professional success.”
The filing follows a rocky month for the couple. TMZ reported earlier in November that Scheana Marie, 31, became worried when Mike reportedly failed to return home after band practice on November 2, and she was unable to get ahold of him.
A source close to the aspiring singer told TMZ that Scheana Marie feared her husband may have fallen off the wagon after nearly a year of sobriety following an eight-year addiction to painkillers.
His struggle has been documented on Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, including a 2015 episode where Scheana Marie staged an intervention.
Mike has refuted rumors about his disappearance and sobriety. “I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!!” he wrote on Instagram on November 7. “Don’t believe everything you read. I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!”
At the time, a source close to the couple told Us “the relationship is strained.” However, only five weeks earlier, Scheana Marie showed affection on Instagram for her longtime love, captioning a photo of her husband, “#MCM to this stud! Love you baby!! @mikeshaymusic.”
But Scheana Marie hinted to Us Weekly in an early November interview, above, that fans would be seeing more cracks in the couple’s marriage on the new season of Vanderpump Rules.
“You will see a different side to our relationship this season, and that’s all I’m going to say,” she said.
The Bravo star stayed coy when asked if cameras would be capturing fighting between the pair, saying only: “I don’t think so, but I don’t know.”
The couple married on July 27, 2014, in a romantic ceremony at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, California. The wedding was filmed and aired as part of season 3 of Vanderpump Rules.
