Hold up, Internet! After Selena Gomez was photographed on Monday, Nov. 23, having dinner with a group of pals including One Direction's Niall Horan, fans speculated whether the two pop stars were a possible pair. However, a source confirms to Us Weekly that they are strictly friends.
Gomez, 23, and Horan, 22, went out for dinner at Nobu Malibu, where they were joined by a group including Horan's 1D bandmate Liam Payne. A source close to the "Same Old Love" songstress tells Us that Gomez is still very much single. Another source adds that the two singing sensations have actually been friends for ages.
The first insider tells Us that the songstress ran into Horan at an afterparty for the AMAs on Sunday, Nov. 22, and thought they'd catch up over a nice sushi meal at the swanky hot spot.
Meanwhile, Gomez was spotted out and about last Friday, Nov. 20, with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. The two old friends looked happy though they weren't seen holding hands in photos. However, at one point, Gomez consoled the "Sorry" crooner by placing her hand on his back.
Later that evening, Bieber, 21, nearly broke the Internet when he serenaded his longtime former flame with a cover of The Temptation's "My Girl" at a piano bar in the Montage Beverly Hills. While the couple called it quits for good in January 2013, after an off-again, on-again three-year relationship, the two maintain a solid friendship, which Bieber directly confirmed to Us in a recent interview.
“She’s my homey,” the Purpose hitmaker told Us exclusively this past month. “We don’t talk every day. But every now and then, she hits my phone up.”
