Best. Day. Ever! Simone Biles got to meet her celebrity crush Zac Efron on Tuesday, August 16 — right after securing her fourth gold medal during the 2016 Rio Olympics, naturally. Watch the video above to see her reaction!
“So… this just happened! @ZacEfron surprised @Simone_Biles and The Final Five from @USAGYM! #Rio2016,” NBC Olympics tweeted on Tuesday, along with a GIF of Biles looking ecstatic with the Neighbors actor. Today show host Hoda Kotb was behind the surprise meeting.
“On cloud 9 💙☁️ @zacefron,” Biles captioned an adorable GIF of her own on Instagram. In the clip, the gymnast kisses Efron on the cheek.

“He kissed me on the cheek just letting y’all know @ZacEfron 💋❤️,” she added alongside a collage of photos on Twitter.
Their meeting comes after an adorable online friendship. After Biles made it known during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and in her Us Weekly 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me that she had a big ol’ crush on the former Disney star, Efron tweeted at her.
“Thanks for the heads up @TheEllenShow! 😊 Good luck at the Olympic trials @Simone_Biles! #Rio2016,” Efron tweeted in July, to which Biles responded: “@ZacEfron @TheEllenShow OH MY GOSH I THINK I AM GOING TO PASS OUT OH MY GOSH CRYING! THANK YOU 😊.”
The Neighbors 2 star has been cheering her on throughout the games as well.
Biles, let’s not forget, also took NBC on a tour of her childhood bedroom, where she revealed that she has a life-size cardboard cutout of Efron that she used to kiss on the cheek.
