‘Sister Wives’ Star Mykelti Brown Is Engaged to Antonio Padron: He ‘Completes Me in Every Way’

The stars of Sister Wives are hearing wedding bells! Mykelti Brown, the daughter of Kody Brown and wife Christine, is engaged to her boyfriend, Antonio Padron, the happy couple confirms to Us Weekly exclusively.

“Tony completes me in every way,” the 20-year-old sales associate tells Us of her other half, whom she’s been with for nine months. “He is an incredible man and together, I believe we are perfect.”

Her new fiancé is equally elated. “I feel as if I’ve completed a puzzle with her and added superglue to keep it together forever!” he gushes.

Mykelti says that her beloved popped the question on a hike in Utah, where they live. When they stopped to take a break at a spot overlooking a waterfall, “Tony got down on one knee and recited a poem he had written for me while opening a ring box,” she reveals. “It was such a beautiful ring. I said ‘yes’ with all my heart and I meant it!”

The reality personality’s new sparkler isn’t your typical engagement ring — it’s a green amethyst set in yellow gold.

“I’ve never liked the traditional diamond for an engagement ring, and Tony knew that,” Mykelti tells Us. “He picked the perfect one.”

“It’s Mykelti’s favorite stone!” the 22-year-old banker adds.

Prior to popping the question, the young man did make sure to get her father’s permission.

“Kody is a man of large stature,” Padron says, adding that he was intimidated by the thought of asking his future father-in-law for Mykelti’s hand in marriage. But after spending time with the Brown family’s patriarch — who has four wives, 15 biological children and three adopted kids — the banker felt he had earned Kody’s respect and decided to ask for permission to marry Mykelti.

“He seemed overjoyed,” Padron tells Us.

While the dad of 18 was excited about his daughter’s engagement, Christine — Kody’s third wife — needed some time to get used to the idea that her little girl wanted to get married. In an exclusive clip that TLC is sharing with Us of Sunday’s new episode of Sister Wives, Mykelti tells her mom that her beau wants to talk to Kody about the young couple tying the knot, but doesn’t get the reaction she was expecting.

“I didn’t know they were that serious. I thought that this was her play time,” the mom of six tells the camera.

But Christine has since gotten on board. “As soon as Tony and I finished our engagement hike, we drove to Las Vegas to my parents’ home and told my mom immediately,” Mykelti tells Us.

Though the newly engaged couple — who will have a monogamous marriage — don’t yet have a date set, they’re hoping to have a large wedding in the winter.

“The theme is going to incorporate who each of us is and our family traditions,” they tell Us. “We are thinking something Mexican vintage because it represents both of us.”

Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
