Spencer Pratt Reacts to L.A. Mayor Race After Nithya Raman Beats Karen Bass: ‘Played With Fire’

Spencer Pratt isn’t holding back when it comes to his thoughts on Nithya Raman beating Karen Bass to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.

“Nithya didn’t win. Karen lost,” Pratt, 43, wrote via X on Thursday, November 5. “You simply can’t destroy a city as much as she did. She played with fire, and she got fired. Nithya won’t offer any reprieve, though. She’s a moron, and the city will continue to decline. The real loser today is LA, but we were gonna tank with either candidate.”

Earlier in the day, NBC News projected that Raman, 45, will be the next mayor of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles City Council member will lead the city for major events, including the 2028 Olympic Games.

Pratt, who was inspired to run for L.A. Mayor after losing his home due to the Palisades fire but lost in the June primary, believes Bass, 73, didn’t lose the election because of one thing.

“It wasn’t the wildfire that did her in; the Palisades held their nose and voted for her, and the rest of LA doesn’t care about the Palisades. They had their own reasons,” Pratt claimed. “South Central hates Karen cuz she abandoned them in favor of criminal migrants. Boyle Heights hates her for the warehouse fire. DTLA hates her for the bums. Hollywood hates her for the restaurant collapse and water main breaks.”

The former Hills star added, “When Nithya presides over the same intractable issues in LA, they will hate her all the same. LA needed radical change. Not a change in radicals.”

In a statement, Bass thanked all of her supporters and praised Los Angeles for giving her the opportunity to become the first Black woman mayor in the history of the city.

“Thank you, Los Angeles. Serving as your mayor has been the honor of my life,” she wrote via Instagram on Thursday. “To every volunteer, supporter and Angeleno who believed in this work: thank you. The progress we made belongs to all of us. I’ve called Councilmember Raman to congratulate her, and I’m committed to a smooth transition. I love Los Angeles. I believe in Los Angeles. And I will continue to ensure the promise of a better life belongs to all of us.”

Looking towards the future, Pratt made it clear that he is not confident in Raman’s abilities.

“I don’t see Nithya as an ideologue. I see her as a moron. She’s pillow soft and can be bullied,” Pratt claimed via X. “Big voices in LA will be able to bully her into shifting her positions, as she has shown with her constant waffling on every issue. Keep pressure on her, be ruthless and you can mitigate some of the damage she will do.”

During her election night speech held at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Raman said she had “enough of establishment politics.”

“This campaign has made it clear that the days of our broken status quo are over,” she continued, via Politico.

In his latest X post, Pratt had one final thought for those following the race for L.A. Mayor.

“This wasn’t an election…it was a humiliation ritual. Especially for my neighbors in the Palisades, who endured the extra indignity of casting their ballots for the witch who burned down our town, only to see their pick ultimately lose, so it was all for naught,” he said. “Anyway. Take the primaries more seriously from now on, yeah?”
