Sylvester Stallone's son Sage, 36, died from natural causes due to a heart condition and not a drug overdose, the Los Angeles County coroner's office said Thursday.
Sage, a filmmaker and actor, was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment on July 13. Prescription bottles were found in Sage's home, but his attorney George Braunstein denied reports that Sage was "trying to take his life."
According to the coroner via The Associate Press, Sage died from a condition that causes blockage of the arteries and toxicology results showed only a minimal amount of hydrocodone (Vicodin) in his system.
Sylvester's oldest son with ex-wife Sasha Czach was laid to rest on July 21 in Los Angeles.
The actor spoke for the first time about his son's death with Good Morning America on Aug. 14. "It's tough. It's very very tough," he said while promoting The Expendables 2. "It's a horrible situation but, time, hopefully will heal and you try to get through it. It's something that's a reality in life."
