ORIGINAL STORY: A sip before the slammer. Despite her forthcoming prison time, Teresa Giudice is continuing on with her plans for for a wine party next week.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 42, was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 2, on fraud charges with her husband Joe Giudice. The cookbook maven is set to serve 15 months in prison, while her hubby was handed down a sentencing for 41 months behind bars.
While she faced one of the hardest days of her life on Thursday, Teresa is putting on a brave face and planning to keep up appearances.
The mother to four is scheduled to fête her Fabellini brand of wine on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Westwood, N.J. She is throwing a Fabellini Wine'down at Bibi'z Restaurant & Lounge, offering signed bottles of her bubbly and posing for photos with fans.
It will be a change of pace for Teresa, who broke down in the New Jersey courthouse, tearing up as she spoke to the hearing's audience.
"Thank you for letting me address the court today. I wrote this last night because I get nervous when I speak," she said. "I speak as a wife, a mother, and a daughter. Today I am blessed but I am also humbled. I hear you and what you are saying, and it is time for me to wake up."
There are few details as of yet on the Giudices' prison terms. It has been confirmed that Teresa will serve her time before her husband so that their four daughters are cared for.
"She's a strong woman," a source tells Us Weekly of Teresa, adding that those close to her thought she would cancel her plans "given yesterday's news," but she stuck to them.
